Effect Of Sodium Metabisulfite In Piglet feed With High Vomiting Toxin Wheat

Experimental Design:

Using piglets with an initial weight of 13.4 kilograms and a 21 day experimental period, the following six types of feed were fed:

Positive control: Use normal wheat. Full price vomit toxin 0.5ppm.

Add 1% commercial disinfectant Product V to the positive control.

Negative control: Use wheat with 6ppm emetic toxin (4ppm full feed emetic toxin).

Negative control plus 1% commercial disinfectant Product V.

Add 1% sodium metabisulfite to the negative control.

Experimental Result:

High vomiting toxin feed significantly reduces daily weight gain and feed intake, and the feed to meat ratio significantly deteriorates.

The commercial detoxification agent Product V did not improve the feeding effect.

After adding 1% sodium metabisulfite to feed with high vomiting toxin, the detection content of vomiting toxin decreased by 92% after granulation.

Adding sodium metabisulfite to high vomiting toxin feed improved growth rate, feed intake, and feed to meat ratio.

After adding sodium metabisulfite to high vomiting toxin feed, the feed to meat ratio and growth rate were better than the control group.

Conclusion: Sodium metabisulfite can combine with vomiting toxins in feed under humid and hot granulation conditions, and has a significant effect on solving the problem of vomiting toxins.

Summary:

Sodium metabisulfite can combine with vomiting toxins in feed under humid and hot granulation conditions, and is an effective additive for controlling vomiting toxins. The use of this technology allows for the use of raw materials with high levels of vomiting toxins in pig feed, without affecting the growth performance of pigs.

In addition, other experiments have found that adding 0.25-0.5% sodium metabisulfite to the conservation feed has an effect on improving the production performance of conservation pigs. In this experiment, adding 1% sodium metabisulfite to feed with excessive vomiting toxins resulted in piglet production performance exceeding that of the control group, indicating that sodium metabisulfite not only controls vomiting toxins but also has additional growth promoting effects.

Sodium metabisulfite is a commonly used preservative in the food industry, which has functions such as anti-corrosion, anti mold, and antioxidant. The price is not high and easy to purchase. Sodium metabisulfite has been approved for use as a feed additive in countries such as China, the United States, and Australia.
